Copenhagen Round 1

Friday a group of twelve of us (1 Canadian, 1 Swiss, 1 German, 9 Dutch) took the train to Copenhagen and spent the night and most of today in the city. While in Copenhagen we stayed at the Danhostel, the largest city hostel in Europe with 1020 rooms (http://www.danhostel.dk/vandrerhjem.asp?lan=uk&id=144).

Friday night we went to a club called Vega, a four-story nightclub with three different dancefloors/bars, each spinning different genres of music (one floor was playing 90's alternative rock, another contained a live electronica group and the third included a DJ spinning hip-hop and latin music). We learned quickly that smoking is permitted inside both the clubs and restaurants in Denmark... (also, clubs are open until 5/6am and drinking is permitted on the streets)

Saturday we went out for breakfast then hit some of the touristy sites in Copenhagen including the parliament buildings, the changing of the guard and the Little Mermaid statue (created in honor of Hans Christian Andersen, the author of the Little Mermaid).
